How It Works
If you are a Madison Gas and Electric (MGE) residential electric customer with a qualifying WiFi-connected thermostat for cooling, you can earn a $25 gift card for your first year of participation! After that, you will receive $25 for participating each season. Let's work together to reduce our energy use during peak demand times.
Cut Cost, Not Comfort
From June 1 through September 30, MGE will automatically adjust the temperature on the enrolled thermostat in your home by no more than four degrees for no more than four hours when it detects a high energy-demand event. There will be a maximum of 20 adjustments and these will occur on non-holiday weekdays. You can opt out of peak energy event adjustments at any time from your mobile device, web browser or thermostat.
